Anthony Davis, 25, has informed the Pelicans front office that he has no intentions of resigning with the Pelicans this off-season and wants to be traded to a contender. Davis is currently on the shelf with a finger injury but will likely return within a week or 2. Whichever team lands the big man will be very lucky as Davis is one of the great young stars in the NBA. He is currently averaging 29 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 2.6 blocks per game while shooting 50% from the field. The Lakers are said to be one of the strong suitors for Davis but would they be whiling to part ways with their young stars such as Kyle Kuzma and Lonzo Ball? The same goes for the Celtics, another team who has shown interest in Davis but are in the same situation with Jayson Tatum, who he himself said he would trade himself for Davis. The Celtics are also loaded with draft picks including an unprotected 1st rd pick from Memphis that could turn out being a top 10 pick. This will be a tough blow for the Pelicans as they not only lost DeMarcus Cousins this past off-season but now they will potentially lose the best player in franchise history.
